The Situation:
As a result of a recent promotion offer on ratchet straps, our Area Sales Manager for the Central North region, Nicholas Reed, approached several Buying Groups, leading to a conversation with Duncan Thomson, Managing Director and Owner of Builders' Merchant Company.

The promotion sparked his interest in seeing what Centurion can offer his four branches. After the initial conversation with Duncan, he tasked our team with transforming all four branches with Centurion products, replacing their existing supplier's stock.

The Solution:
We took on this challenge, which resulted in a meeting at the Builders’ Merchant Company Head Office including Nick and Centurion's area sales representatives, David. The meeting included showing Duncan multiple product samples and discussing what he needed from the range.

It was clear from the outset that we could offer far more in the designated metreage than the existing profile.

Duncan was looking for a DIY-focused range to promote upselling opportunities and attract more of a DIY-oriented customer.

After reviewing the current range profile, we noticed an opportunity to expand the offering and optimise the space. This gives their customers more choice and the potential to increase the business's revenue.

We installed a comprehensive range of pre-packed hardware, including catches, picturing accessories, and door furniture. We also included ironmongery, fence spikes, ropes, and tarpaulins as part of the range.

The Results:
Since installing the profiles in all four branches, the managers have been delighted and are continuing to see an improvement in the customers the range is attracting.

Upon completing both installs and crediting the cleansed stock, Duncan commented, "The branches look stunning – great all-round performance. My personal thanks to all Centurion staff."
